Responsibilities as a Cost Accountant:

• Provides management with detailed cost data not ordinarily supplied by the general accounting systems by extracting and analyzing production data

• Ensures the manufactured direct costs are accurate and realistic by verifying and/or correcting the weekly part cost update reports.
• Ensures that the Company’s FIFO inventory costs are accurate by performing audits, investigative functions, and calculating overhead
• Performs and assists with work order analysis on various plant production orders and various plant product costing functions
• Works with Company personnel in determining estimated costs for future products by providing required information
• Assists auditors by participating in the annual physical inventory test count and by providing necessary requested
• Provide information as requested to support bank and collateral audits
• Support improvements in SAP and reporting systems
• Responsible for special projects as assigned

Qualifications for the Cost Accountant position:

• BA in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Regular, Full-time, predictable onsite attendance.
• Knowledge of Cost Accounting and some experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong Excel knowledge
• Ability to lift 10lbs
