Cost Accountant

Aqua Star is a Seattle based privately-owned, American seafood company founded in 1990.

We are a leading global frozen seafood sales, marketing, and distribution enterprise.

We serve food service customers, such as restaurant chains and seafood distributors, as well as retail customers: food retailers, retail wholesalers, & club warehouses.

We are looking to fill the role of Cost Accountant at our corporate headquarters in Seattle, WA.

The main responsibilities for this role will be the following: Responsibilities: Assist with costing process of purchase orders and stock transfers Maintain consistent workload with careful attention to detail Reconcile purchase receipts to GL daily Maintain and update costing procedures Cross train and provide backup coverage for other team members Reconcile general ledger accounts as assigned by the Controller Achieve goals consistently and efficiently Focus on thoroughly completing tasks leaving nothing to chance Analyze production costs versus standard Monitor unit cost variances Assist with standard cost analysis Perform special projects as requested Ideal Candidate Will Have: 2-3 years general accounting experience Cost and inventory accounting experience highly preferred Experience with Microsoft Office; advanced Excel, intermediate Word Attention to detail Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff at all levels in an organization Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent experience Benefits: Affordable Medical, Dental, and Vision plans FSA and HSA available Paid Life/AD&D, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability 401k with 4% Employer Matching (immediately vested) Commuting/Parking Benefits Health Club Benefits Employee Assistance Program Annual Profit Sharing Paid Time Off & Holidays Job Type: Full-time Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Disability insurance Employee assistance program Flexible spending account Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule: Day shift Monday to Friday Supplemental Pay: Bonus pay Ability to Commute/Relocate: Seattle, WA 98121 (Required) Education: Bachelor&039;s (Preferred) Experience: Accounting: 2 years (Required) Work Location: One location Work Remotely: No
