The position for the Cost Accountant is open because of the continued growth of the company and in this particular location. The Cost Accountant role will be a key role in a new department and is a great opportunity for someone who wants to be involved with all aspects of the manufacturing process The Cost Accountant will be responsible for the following things: Work with standard cost control systems and procedures. Work directly with engineers to develop cost for new products. Update standard costs, including labor and overhead rate calculations Evaluate material usage and conduct time studies. Participate in the year-end physical inventory. Review and recommend potential write-off of obsolete and damaged inventory Analyze and report manufacturing variances. Job Requirements: Must be able to update a Bill of Materials (BOM) and understand how the production process works.
