Educators Resource is recruiting for a Corporate Controller to join our leadership team. This is a highly visible role working directly with the CFO for a company headquartered in Mobile, Alabama and poised for explosive growth. In addition to performing accounting functions, this position is responsible for leading a team in a high-performance and growth-mindset culture, translating business strategies into actionable plans.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years corporate accounting experience with leadership responsibilities. If you are an ambitious go-getter, we could be the company for you. Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and support the accounting team with leadership that creates an enjoyable and exciting work environment.
• Supervise A/R & A/P.

• Provide comprehensive financial updates by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate KPIs.
• Ensure the accuracy and compliance of company financial documents such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and financial transactions.
• Conduct and manage audits and provide necessary support.
• Together with the CFO, establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets and reporting.
• Provide summary explanations of financial statements variances to budget.
• Prepare cash flow budget, monitors cash on hand and capital spending.
• Manage the month end close process, reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Improve system efficiencies, financial and accounting processes.
• Prepare and file various business taxes and communication with the appropriate taxing authorities.
• Ensure staff is reconciling sales to confirm bank deposit amounts are accurate and all funds are accounted for, including credit card deposits and cash deposits.

Experience and Education

• Bachelors degree in accounting
• 3-5 years corporate accounting experience
• Experience leading an accounting team

• Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of federal, state and local tax compliance regulations and reporting.
