COMPANY is looking to hire a Controller for our growing BizOps practice in St. Louis, Missouri, serving clients in retail with a focus in dealerships. This position provides an outstanding opportunity to grow your career as you contribute to the success of clients’ businesses. This is a full-time, long-term career opportunity serving multiple COMPANY clients on a permanent basis; it is not an outsourced temporary position.

As a Controller you will:

• Work directly with clients, COMPANY client relationship leaders and COMPANY staff to meet the clients’ needs
• Provide project management expertise by managing multiple clients, work, team members and deadlines.
• Take on the role of consultant and advisor to your clients on best practices for accounting and finance-related functions
• Responsible for supervising the accounting team which may include a combination of COMPANY staff and client staff
• Assist the accounting team to record complex transactions
• Review complex account reconciliations prepared by the accounting team
• Supervise the monthly, quarterly, and annual adjusting and closing process
• Provide detailed review of the general ledger, financial statements and required work papers
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations.
• Prepare work papers for the independent auditors, if applicable
• Maintain knowledge for providing services in accordance with accounting standards and internal COMPANY BizOps policies
• Foster and build opportunities for our clients and our people.

Think you’re a fit  This is what successful candidates for this role have:

• Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Controller or equivalent role.
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification required.
• Proficient knowledge of accounting software especially all versions of QuickBooks required.
• Prior project management and client management experience preferred but not required.
• Previous public accounting experience preferred but not required.
• Comfortable in fast paced environment, skilled in multitasking, and experience in multiple industries.
