SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Establishes and maintains accounting policies and controls, fiscal controls, preparing financial reports and safeguarding the organization’s assets.
Maintains accounting and financial records and reports, including general ledger, financial statements, regulatory and management reports.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
•Policies & Practices
As a leader in the field, represent the organization at major external and internal meetings, conferences and seminars and enhance the awareness of CCHMC’s position as a national leader in the field of pediatric health care planning.
Implement this knowledge in daily work and with others for their development and for the benefit of key deliverables.
Develop knowledge and professional skills through cross training, literature and attendance at department meetings.
Participate in improving organizational performance through recommending areas or approaches for improvement activities, performing new procedures, collecting data and providing input to department discussions.
•Financial Management
Identify, evaluate and make fiscally responsible recommendations regarding resource needs for the department, to include finances, materials, human resources, capital and space.
Prepare, coordinate, evaluate and manage annual fiscal operating and capital equipment budgets for the area.
Monitor outcomes and the costs of services in order to evaluate, modify, continue or discontinue programs.
Support internal controls to safeguard the financial, information and human resources of Cincinnati Children’s.
•Performance Management
Develop the necessary and innovative analytical techniques & resources to enable successful growth, leveraging existing tools/databases.
Develop a market intelligence database, communicating market trends to leadership.
Direct the development & monitoring of an effective staffing and retention strategy.
, including hiring and terminating employees, workforce planning, succession planning; attracting and retaining top performers, partnering with leadership and Human Resources to develop effective and appropriate recruitment packages, and effective on-boarding programs for staff; effective performance management of direct reports; in partnership with leadership, provide mentoring and development to faculty and other leaders in effective performance management; mentor and provide learning and development opportunities for direct reports and others in business roles; effectively and appropriately leveraging human resources business partners to meet the division’s talent management goals; ultimate responsibility for supporting organizational programs/plans that impact employees and ensuring communication, comprehension, and adherence to all Human Resources policies and related legal and/or compliance requirements.

Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
•10+ years of work experience in a related job discipline
Preferred:
•CPA
*Auditing or Corporate Controllership experience
