Summary/Objective
The Financial Controller is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of finance and accounting departments including but not limited to billing, accounts payable and receivable, and budgeting. The controller will ensure the company’s accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives align with the company’s mission statement and values. Duties include preparing financial reports and budgets, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with federal and local laws. The ideal candidate will show proven success in leading and maintaining an accounting and/or finance department. Candidate will have strong leadership, financial analysis, and financial planning skills. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

- Coordinate and direct the financial planning, budgeting, procurement, or investment activities of all or part of an organization.
- Responsible for preparing company’s financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Assist CFO with strategic plans, annual budgets and monthly and quarterly forecasts process. Establishes economic strategies, objectives and policies for the company.
- Ensure compliance with all Corporate Policies and Procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements
- Manages financial and SOX audits with internal and external auditors and provide recommendations for procedural improvements
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of accounting and other financial staff, recommending and implementing personnel actions, such as promotions and dismissals.
- Clarify roles and responsibilities and develop and implement training programs in order to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals.
- Oversee banking relationship; negotiate fees and services, document procedures. Oversee group health insurance benefit plan, administration, evaluation of options, and payroll.
- Partner with the commercial and operations organizations on customer, product and project analytics.
- Collaborate with the IT organization to enable the systems and processes for efficient reporting and analyses.

Education and Experience
- Master’s Degree – Accounting/Finance or related major
- CPA certification
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Accounting/Finance experience
- 5 to 7 years in a leadership role within an Accounting/Finance Department
- SEC reporting, GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance experience
- Highly proficient in financial analysis, problem solving, strategic decision making
- Excellent leadership, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Superb employee management, mentoring and training skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast pace environment
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills; able to see the big picture
- Ability to work under pressure
