What You’ll Get to Do
As a Controller at STEP CG, you will oversee, plan, and direct all general accounting activities including maintenance of accounting systems and standards and delivery of key financial management reports for the Company.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
Establish internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
Assist with daily treasury management.
Oversee accounts receivable and payable management.
Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team, providing leadership that sets the tone for creative problem solving, positive customer communication and cooperation, and empowerment.
Ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Oversee the production of periodic financial reports; ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
Audit accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external review.
Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
Provide financial analysis and recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure the Company’s performance.
Assist with production of annual budgets; report significant budget differences to management.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Ideal Candidate’s Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration
Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred
5+ years of relative experience required
Dynamics 365 Business Central experience required
Good working knowledge of GAAP required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational, time management and attention to detail skills
Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures
Ability to manage confidential information
Experience directly managing, developing, and motivating a team preferred
