About the Company and Opportunity:
Our client is a highly successful, female owned government contractor who has been around for 20 years. They are located in Elkridge, MD (Metro accessible).
Due to a retirement, they are hiring a Controller to work directly with the owner of the company.
Pay: Flexible depending on experience
This position will begin on a temporary basis. For the right candidate, the role can become permanent
Hours: 8am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5pm and 100% in office. Candidates must be able to commit to a full time schedule and be local.

Job Duties Include:
Collecting information to complete 3 yearly audits
Biweekly payroll for 200 employees
Performing bank reconciliations
Handling invoices
Working on transition from current financial system to new system (Deltek)
Preferred Qualifications for the Controller Role:
Bachelors or higher in Accounting required. CPA or other certifications highly preferred.
Knowledge of Deltek products is highly preferred
Experience with government contracting required
Advanced Excel skills required- must be able to do pivot tables
Must be able to pass prescreen security clearances and be a U.S. Citizen
Great attention to detail and extremely accurate, is patient and flexible, and open to learning new things
