You will succeed in this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff.

Candidates who can effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo, will be preferred for this position.

Your responsibilities in this role

– Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

– Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

– Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

– Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

– Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection

– Assure client expectations are met by reviewing deliverables of self and team

– Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

– Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

– Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities

– Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

– Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodology

Job Requirements:

– Vow to meet business deadlines

– Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
– Foundational knowledge in Nonprofit Organizations
– Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings
– Adeptness in medicaid
– Experience with medicare
– Command of Annual Budget
– Deep understanding of supervising
– Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
– Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
– Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
– 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
– Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
– Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
– BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
– Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
– Great attention to detail
