Construction Accountant

Description This role handles essential tasks, such as financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting.

Candidates with strong analytical skills and a preference for challenging and fast-paced work environments will be successful in this position.

– Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary
– When working with business partners, ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls.

Additionally, be able to provide support on special requests
– Offer involvement in various department-wide initiatives
– Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
– Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions
– Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations
– Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.

and present analysis in a clear manner
– Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
– Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external Requirements
– ERP system experience
– Vow to meet business deadlines
– Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
– Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
– Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
– 3+ years of overall general accounting experience
– Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
– Construction Accounting experience desired
– Strong familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP)
– Demonstrated knowledge of account reconciliation
– Financial reporting experience required
– Payroll experience highly desired
– Adeptness in expense reports
– Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
– Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
– BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
