SUMMARY
– Chief Financial Officer (CFO): 
The Chief Financial Officer will develop and implement financial policies as well as direct and oversee all of the financial activities of the corporation.

Responsible for overseeing Accounting, Billing, Collections, and Purchasing departments. 

Job Duties:

  • Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
  • Directs the preparation and distribution of various monthly, quarterly and annual financial analysis reports to physician owners and management.
  • Directs and oversees the annual capital and operational budget process in support of ongoing operations.
  • Coordinates financial projections for new capital purchases and services in support of group strategic priorities. 
  • Manages group cash and debt profiles in support of ongoing operational needs.

    Establishes and maintains good relationships with lending institutions.

    Completes all debt covenants.

  • Establishes Master Fee Schedule for all services and products.
  • Compares and reports on actual results to budget and updates and communicates projected results.
  • Directs and oversees the Retirement Plan and the related year end contribution calculations and funding.

    Manages the BMC investment Committee.

  • Manages the BMC Finance Committee.
  • Directly involved in being a liaison and contributor to the BMC joint ventures.
  • Works directly with auditors in the annual financial audit.
  • Directly determines and implements physician monthly draw activity and meets directly with individual physicians in determining draw and retirement plan ongoing activity.
  • Directly responsible for the semi-annual compensation calculation (redistribution) for all providers.
  • Directly designs and calculates any incentive plans.
  • Directs shareholder stock buy-ins and buy-backs and well as deferred compensation.
  • Works with consultants to yield tax advantages.
  • Oversees the Managers and results of the Accounting Department, the Billing and Collection Department and the Purchasing Department.
  • Reviews all financial processes and suggests improvements to current methods.
  • Analyzes operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, downsizing, expansion, or elimination.
  • Analyzes and communicates opportunity cost where applicable.
  • Works with the CEO and other executives, committees and boards to coordinate strategic planning and establish priorities for the planning process.
  • Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on BMC.

Experience and Skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Economics required.
  • Past or Present Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification required.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance preferred.
  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience in healthcare financial management required.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills, analytical and organizational skills, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems (high proficiency in Excel required).
  • Prior Healthcare Payor Quality and Risk Program Experience Preferred

  • Consistently demonstrates above average judgment and common sense as it relates to this job.
  • Strong ability to plan ahead and take initiative.

    Must be professional and have a flexible attitude toward changing priorities and schedules.

Skills / Job Knowledge:

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization.
  • Highly organized with a demonstrated ability to be accurate and show attention to detail so as not to miss any financial information.
  • Ability to operate a 10 key adding machine with speed and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated audit awareness and exceptional working knowledge of MS Office programs such as Word and Excel, including creating pivot tables.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.

  • All clinic personnel and physicians, as well as outside banks, payroll companies, auditors, vendors and joint venture partners.
