Chief Financial Officer

Hospice Austin

This is a Full-time position in Austin, TX posted November 14, 2021.

Benefits:About Us: One of the largest and most respected non-profit organizations and its subsidiary in the Austin area seeks a Chief Financial Officer.

The CFO is responsible for overall financial operations and activities, including strategic financial planning, financial reporting, financial and operations analysis, accounting, capital planning, revenue cycle management, Board reporting, payroll and operating funds management.

This position supports and reports to the Chief Executive Officer, and is a member of the Senior Leadership team..

Job Responsibilities/Duties: The CFO provides financial leadership for Hospice Austin, Austin Palliative Care and Hospice Austin Fund and is responsible for promoting the mission, core values and vision through effective financial operational processes.

This leader is responsible for positive relationships and effective communications with fellow senior leadership team members, board members, managers, medical, clinical and non-clinical staff and community representatives as appropriate..

Accounting and Finance: Oversee preparation and distribution of financial statements, provide analysis of financial trends, provide analysis of cash flow, oversee all financial reports, coordinate annual audit..

Contracting: Review and negotiate contracts with hospitals, nursing homes and vendors.

Assist with real estate purchases, office space and other leases..

Insurance: Evaluate the adequacy of organization’s general and professional liability insurance, property, D&O insurance coverage and oversee annual renewal applications..

Policies: Prepare and maintain financial policies and procedures..

Staff supervision: Interviews and hires staff, counsel, train, investigate and ensure staff is held accountable for performance..

Strategic Decision Making : Assist CEO with strategic decisions to ensure organization’s long term viability and relevance, participate in developing new lines of business, assist in strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs and securing of new funding..

Position Background:.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance..

Master’s degree and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred..

5-7 years of increasing responsibility in the healthcare/hospice environment..

Orientation is Monday-Friday and will be paid.
