Chief Accountant

We are proud to announce the openings of two lifestyle boutique hotels that will join the Hyatt Hotels and Resorts family in downtown Austin – Thompson Austin and tommie Austin which will make their debut downtown in the music and entertainment district this summer..

The role.

The Chief Accountant will be on a team responsible for the oversight of all accounting processes within the 2 hotels, working in unison with the Assistant Director of Finance and Area Director of Finance..

By joining the team, you will be working within a very supportive and dynamic role to ensure that the department provides the upmost accuracy of accounting and analysis, while thriving to improve on efficiency and processes and meeting guest and owner expectations..

Job duties will include but not limited to the following:.

Manage and help oversee hotel on-site accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting, and analysis for the hotel.

It includes:.

Daily income audit; daily report including payroll review.

Cash management; accounts payable review & aging; accounts receivables.

Coordination with shared services both for event billing to collections.

Assist in preparing month-end adjustments and journal entries while adhering to GAAP, USALI and SOX compliances.

Assist in Balance Sheet reconciliations..

Assist with third-party partners’ billing and reconciliations and with owner reporting.

Assist with completing the year-end audit process..

Assist with contract review and maintaining licenses and permits.

Support all finance and purchasing functions.

This mixed use project will also feature a residential tower – Siena – and 10,000 square feet of retail space..

Qualifications.

Two years or more of relevant accounting experience.

A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment..

Strong PC skills including Excel, Word, and financial accounting system use (Oracle Preferred).

Work experience with Symphony, Opera and Oracle preferred and/or ability to learn new hotel systems in a timely manner..

Strong analytical and organizational skills.
