Cash Application Specialist

Ref ID: 03730-0011466929 Classification: Cash Application Specialist Compensation: $18.00 to $20.00 hourly Cash Applications position available with a very prestigious and growing law firm located in Downtown PIttsburgh The Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for processing all deposits, payments and transactions.

Daily responsibilities will include:
– Prepare deposits based on incoming payments; scan payments into the appropriate bank accounts and complete manual bank deposit information if it is unable to be scanned
– Post payments (cash, checks, credit card payments, wires, etc.) to customer accounts
– Research and resolve any discrepancies between what was paid and the amount that is owed
– Collaborate with the Billing Department and Collections department on the status of AR (Accounts Receivable) Accounts and Customer Balances
– If a customer overpays or short pays on their account, you will need to analyze the payment and try to determine why it exists
– Assist with Bank Reconciliations, daily cash reports and month-end closing responsibilities

Job Requirements:
– Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
– High attention to detail
– Adeptness in Cash Collections and Cash Applications is required
– Proficiency in billing software for attorneys and prior billing experience is preferred
– At minimum, 1 year of relevant accounting., billing and/or cash application experience is required
– High-level understanding of Microsoft Excel is preferred
– Preferred education is an AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
– Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
