Corporate & Commercial Banking (CCB) is a wholesale banking business line within U.S.
Bancorp.
CCB Risk Management (CCBRM) is in the First Line of Defense and is seeking an experienced individual to join its team.
This individual will be a key integration point for reporting, record keeping, executive communication development.
This leader will also help ensure CCBRM is maintaining consistent messaging and documentation across its horizontal and vertical functions.The ideal candidate will have experience in providing business support to executive leadership ideally in a commercial bank, with previous exposure to commercial lending/leasing, treasury management, and capital markets products and services.
The role will include the following responsibilities:
• Coordinate with key stakeholders in the line of business, CCB Risk Management, and other internal parties to ensure executive reporting materials are accurate and comprehensive
• Develop procedures for building and maintaining key business reporting and documents
• Provide credible challenge across CCBRM and Business Line leadership regarding timeliness, accuracy and cross business impacts of programs, issues, risks and projects
• Support activities to distribute relevant deliverables internally and externally on a routine basis
• Develop and manage regular business routines (staff meetings, all hands sessions, partner spotlight sessions, etc.) for CCBRM
• Manage a team of individuals providing reporting, documentation and other coordination and administrative activities in support of the broader CCBRM team and ad hoc needs of the CCBRM CRO
• Support activities related to Talk to Us responses and action plans for CCBRM
• Remain current on policies, procedures, and other requirements to help ensure adherence by the line of business The Business Support & Controls Manager will establish relationships with the Product Risk Officer teams, CCBRM Program Management team, CCBRM Financial Crimes team and the Exam, Audit and Issue management team to ensure all teams are providing consistent and valid updates to senior leadership on a routine (weekly/monthly) basis.
This individual will be responsible for not only gathering information but will be expected to provide the appropriate credible challenge and oversight to the validity, relevancy and accuracy of the information provided.
This leader will also function as a key point of contact for the CCBRM Executive team as well as FLOD, SLOD and TLOD partners to assist with answering key questions and navigating the organization.
The Business Support & Controls Manager will manage a small team of individuals who will be responsible for maintaining historic records and business artifacts as well as provide reporting and documentation support for other CCBRM teams (e.g., Exams, Audits and Testing Teams).
They will be expected to maintain an appropriate “risk mindset” to ensure all parties are engaged and will help make connections between teams that might not be identified by individuals with a more siloed view.
The leader will also support the ongoing administrative and management routines set forth by the CCBRM Chief Risk Officer (CRO).
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
– Bachelors degree, or equivalent work experience
– 10 or more years of applicable experience Preferred Skills/Experience
• Previous professional experience in wholesale banking o Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, risk management, regulatory trends
• Strong facilitation, project management, and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to manage by influence and develop relationships across teams
• Proficiency in developing communications and comfort with informing executive leadership of key risks, general updates and potential escalations
• Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications and collaboration tools like Microsoft SharePoint
• MBA, JD, or other advanced degree a plus
