Position Summary: The position is within WIM Operations – As the Business Initiatives Consultant 3 within the Trade Support & Portfolio Accounting group, the selected professional will lead the department, in partnership with internal business partners and external service providers, in executing WFAM Operations strategic plans inclusive of WFAM business and product development initiatives.
The role will be dynamic and require the candidate to be nimble to support various initiatives.
While not exhaustive, initiatives may include the introduction of new and/or complex financial strategies and the operational implementation thereof, developing the operational support structure for differing product vehicles, analyzing & developing solutions and executing product & institutional separate account launches, in support of the WFAM business.
Duties will also include identifying opportunities to implement/amend processes and procedures to improve operational efficiencies, reduce risk and provide best-in class services in the department.
Excellent communication skills are required as the role will be representing the department and will interact with senior leadership and major stakeholders to execute on WFAM Operation’s role in support of strategic plans and objectives.
The role will consult with business partners to define tasks, budgets and business cases as needed.
Summary Job Description: Responsible for leading cross functional/virtual teams to strategize, plan and execute a variety of programs, services and initiatives that are large in scope and complexity.
Examples might include, but are not limited to: finance / operational / executive management review coordination, process improvement and redesign, change management initiatives, ongoing oversight of a leadership /diversity / recognition / Q12 or general program oversight.
Provides leadership to other consultants and analysts in the integration/implementation of programs/services/initiatives with cross functional business partners, recognizing the significance of competing priorities and strategies, and adjusting as necessary.
Develops metrics and tracks/evaluates performance of programs, services and initiatives.
Ensures plans/programs adhere to appropriate policies and regulations.
Engages program or project manager at the appropriate level as defined in the Program/Project Management Policy to guide implementation.
The successful candidate will have a strong ability to: Provide strategic perspective and leadership to projects & initiatives: Lead the department in all operational aspects to support such initiatives Develop, communicate and manage critical milestones Create and deliver presentations in support of senior leadership meetings ETF Investment Operations – Demonstrate experience in the support of unique, daily ETF requirements: Cash and in-kind settlements, communicating reconciled intra-day cash balances, and communication to portfolio management team for open market purchases.
ETF Investment Operations
– Interact and resolve issues in fast paced environment with Portfolio Management teams, Capital Markets Desk and Custodians to resolve issues relating to Portfolio Holdings, ETF settlements, corporate actions, projected income, and cash contributions/withdrawals.
Provide leadership, strong networking & communication abilities with internal business partners & external service providers.
Build successful relationships and collaborating with business leaders and partners while driving for tangible results.

Deep understanding of the asset management business and products, with added emphasis on ETFs.
Depth and breadth of experience with complex financial instruments, including all derivative asset classes.
Maintain and enhance a proactive relationship with business partners across WFAM, including Compliance, Legal, Product, Investments, Marketing, Sub-Advisors such as Wells Capital Management, etc.
Identify, plan and communicate impact of initiatives/projects to vendors and service providers including custodians, fund accountants, auditors, financial printers, credit providers, prime brokers, securities lending agents, etc.
Create and maintain operational efficiencies via technology, automation and review of business processes.
Drive the quality process with the goal of maximizing metrics and attaining clean internal and external audit results.
