FUNCTION:Responsible for accurate data collection, compilation and preparation of periodic reports pertaining to Mortgage and Consumer loans including the bank’s annual HMDA submission.
Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, and internal policies and procedures within the Retail Lending Department.
Assist with preparation, data collection, responses and remedies to regular audit and compliance reviews.
Works in conjunction with Risk Management and Compliance staff to achieve desired results.
Assists in preparation and responses for federal and state compliance exams.
Recommend changes to policies and procedures to correct any compliance deficiencies.
Perform internal testing to measure effectiveness of enacted procedural changes.RESPONSIBILITIES:Compile HMDA data associated with all new mortgage and consumer loan requests.
Enter and review all data required for HMDA submission to the HMDA-specific software.
Prepare and inspect interim HMDA reports and submit to Risk Management area.
Review Risk Management HMDA audits and make corrections and procedural changes as required.
Submit complete and error free year-end HMDA report to manager for review.Monitor all residential mortgage and consumer loan applications, including withdrawals and denials to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and all applicable regulatory guidelines.
Prepare reports, as necessary.Assist Retail Lending/BCMC & Consumer Lending Managers in monitoring adherence with internal compliance reviews, external audit comments, and regulatory examination findings.Assist in the development and maintenance of policies, procedures and best practices within areas of responsibility to address audit findings.
Back test results to ensure that these procedures are written, communicated and followed to remediate audit findings.Assist in monitoring the Bank’s loan portfolio and preparation of various reports for regular distribution to the Board of Directors and Retail Lending/BCMC & Consumer Lending Departments.
Maintain an awareness of laws and regulations affecting the department.Assume additional duties as requested.Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements: Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience preferred.
5 years of Mortgage/Consumer Lending experience required.
Knowledge of Residential Mortgage & Consumer Lending related regulatory compliance required.
Demonstrate the willingness to research, obtain, and analyze information for completion of various reports.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Good time management ability and interpersonal skills required.
