OverviewResponsible for analyzing Atlas spare parts inventory and purchase parts accrual; reviewing interface transactions from inventory subsystems to the general ledger; preparing and maintaining management reports and explaining monthly variances in inventory balances; preparing month end journal entries relating to Tech Ops such as inventory, purchased parts, consumables expenses, return conditions; assisting with transactions relating to inventory, such as ULT (unrecorded liabilities test), SOX procedures, investment in joint venture, such as freight and repair billings; researching and preparing documentation for inventory costs amounts and changes to inventory values. In addition, ad hoc analysis may be required.ResponsibilitiesReconcile and monitor inventory subsystems to the general ledger and explain monthly variances to inventory balances and prepare related journal entriesPrepare and monitor specific management reports to perform analytical tasks or monitor activity and prepare related journal entries:Spare parts levels, obsolescence and excess inventoryPurchased parts accrualsAccumulated depreciation and allowance for obsolescenceInterface transactions from inventory subsystem to general ledgerJoint venture activitiesAssist the Manager with developing capital rotable spare parts and depreciation forecasts for the Tech Ops Divisional Controller’s group.Responsible for meeting all related deadlines and assisting the Manager with meeting departmental deadlines.Responsible for special projects and tasks as assigned.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting required.Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business accepted with accountant position experience.3-5 years’ experience in accounting required.Financial analysis experience a plus.Airline/transportation industry experience a plus.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the company. Ability to promote cooperation and coordination between Finance and Operations Divisions.Advanced computer skills including spreadsheet, database and word processing software.Highly organized individual with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.Flexibility to work additional hours and travel as required.The Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
