Associate Director, Financial Reporting

This is a Full-time position in Boston, MA posted September 6, 2021.

Position Summary The Associate Director, Financial Reporting will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of periodic financial statements for external use, preparation and management of internal control documentation, and manage the external audit process.

This position reports to the Controller and will be located at our headquarters in New Haven, CT.

Principal Responsibilities Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: Managing the overall process and be a key contributor to the preparation of the 10-Q and 10-K periodic filings and timely filing with the SEC.

Ensures the periodic filings comply with company standards, professional standards, and GAAP and SEC reporting guidlines.

Development and review of other SEC related filings, such as registration statements and comfort letters.

Development and maintenance of internal control framework and processes, updating as necessary.

Oversight of external service provider related to internal control documentation and testing.

Liaison with external auditors and manage the annual audit and quarterly review processes.

Propose and document accounting treatment related to accounting issues and new accounting.

Manage and prepare accounting for stock compensation expense.

Lead projects implementing new accounting practices and procedures.

Assist in preparation of Audit Committee materials.

Review of significant account balances supporting the financial statement accounts.

Qualifications Minimum B.S in accounting required, with 5 years in public accounting or similar corporate experience in a financial reporting role.

Biotech experience a plus.

CPA is a plus Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Working knowledge of MS Office (especially excel) and accounting software (Great Plains experience a plus).

Well-organized with ability to prioritize.

Very good communication and interpersonal skills.

Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

Education Minimum B.S.

in Accounting required.
