ABOUT THE POSITIONThe Assistant Corporate Controller is a senior member of the Accounting/Corporate Finance team and is responsible for reviewing and analyzing subsidiary financial statements for compliance with US GAAP.
This role will assist in setting accounting policy for the corporation and be an integral part of the team preparing monthly financial reporting and year-end financial statement audits.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESReview monthly financial reporting from all subsidiaries, recommending needed adjustments to ensure correct US GAAP accounting.Develop, publish, and maintain corporate accounting manual, which contains accounting standards and guidelines for the company.
Communicate standards to global accounting team.Leadership role in preparation of monthly financial statement package as well as the preparation of annual audit reports, which includes footnotes and related schedules.
Provide advice to management and subsidiaries worldwide regarding accounting policy and procedures.
Detailed account analysis on consolidated group.Opportunities for progressive responsibilities.Provide indirect leadership to accounting team.Other duties as assigned.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or a related field.
Master’s degree in business administration preferred.Certified Public Accountant preferred.Experience with international accounting standards (IFRS) and foreign currency translation preferred.Ten to fifteen years’ experience in accounting in a manufacturing or similar environment.International accounting experience a plus.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIESBusiness AcumenExperience working as an accountant with increasing levels of responsibility.Familiarity with various ERP systems and consolidation software.
Detail oriented with strong analytical and research skills.Advanced Excel skills and proficient in Word and PowerPoint.Ability to multi-task.Ability to make independent decisions based on investigation and judgment with the ability to discern when to escalate issues.Communication SkillsMust possess strong written and verbal communication skills to present information concisely to management, employees and peers.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with executives, managers, and employees.Proactive team player.WORK ENVIRONMENTOnsite in the Corporate Headquarters Mondays and Tuesdays.
