Assistant Controller

Parker + Lynch is currently conducting a search for an Assistant Controller to join a manufacturing/distribution organization in the Concordville, PA area. This is a newly created role within the organization and will be responsible for leading the monthly/quarterly close, overseeing the organizations AP/AR departments, and assessing areas for process improvements.

Qualified candidates for the role will have at least 8 years of previous accounting experience, experience working within the manufacturing or distribution industry, and the ability to analyze financial statements along with creating dashboards for the executive leadership team.

Responsibilities:

• Reviews and/or prepares transactions for entry, posts entries upon approval, collects and evaluates data, conducts analysis, and prepares reports.
• Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records. Reports inconsistencies to higher level associates.
• Assists with the preparation of general ledger account reconciliations
• Assists in analyzing financial reports and records, making studies or recommendations relative to the recording of financial transactions.
• Prepares schedules with supporting documentation to external auditors
• Responsible for comparing accounting system outputs with daily input verifying for accuracy and resolves discrepancies.
• Assists in preparation of financial and operating reports including trial balances, adjustments and closing entries.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 8+ years of previous accounting experience
• Manufacturing or Distribution industry experience preferred
• Previous managerial experience a plus
