Assistant Controller

As the Assistant Controller, you will oversee the day to day of the accounting staff and send reports to the Controller. This full-time employment opportunity is based in the Perris, California area. By applying through Robert Half Finance & Accounting today, you might be able to work alongside an industry leader in the Manufacturing industry.What you get to do every day- Help with the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting- Draw up numerous procedures, policies, and technical accounting analyses- Detect and prepare process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency- Push accountability and the meeting of deliverables- Deliver regular account reconciliation to completion- Help lead the accounting team during the closing process to ensure deadlines are met- Sophisticated preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits- Other duties when requested- Create relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook- Classify and develop Ad Hoc financial reports- Support to ensure a competent, trained staff through development, regular assessment, and goal setting- Encourage implementation and certify adherence to accounting policies and procedures- Backfill for Controller where necessaryJob Requirements:- Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds- Understanding GAAP and firm accounting policies and procedure- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills- Excellent oral and written communications skills- 7+ years of general ledger accounting experience – Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems- CPA certification desired- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting- Command of Daily Reconciliation- Strong familiarity with Construction Cost- GAAP Accounting experience desired – Prior accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferredRobert Half Finance & Accounting matches skilled professionals with remote or on-site jobs in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, audit, taxation and more on a full-time basis.
