Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Accounts Receivable Accountant to handle AR functions in a fast-paced environment and assist in other accounting-related responsibilities.
The Accounts Receivable Accountant will ensure that the company receives payment on time, make follow-up collections, and calculates and files multi-state Sales Tax.
Accounts receivable primary duties include collection, customer credit management, post payments to customer accounts, and account reconciliations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Collect and record customer payments
Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
Review AR Aging and identify past due accounts and follow-up collection.
Review customer accounts for overpayments and customer credit and prepares refund when necessary.
Provide AR Aging reports to the Controller on a weekly basis for cash flow purposes.
Calculate sales tax(multi-state) and file per state’s deadline
Maintain customer’s sales tax exemption certificate
Work with Customer Service to assure sales tax is appropriately applied
Research customer discrepancies and advise customer service on a resolution
Review and recommend credit limits for new and existing customers
Resolve customer credit limit issues working with Customer Service, Sales, and customers
Assist in a year-end audit in gathering customer-related information for auditors.
Responsible for reporting cash balance daily and assisting in cash forecast
Bank and Account reconciliations
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Special Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
Knowledge of SAP and SURE TAX is a plus.
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy
Requirements:
BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
At least two years of related experience required
Working knowledge of sales tax
Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00
– $30.00 per hour
