Job Summary Reporting to the Area Controller, the role will be overseeing the accounting activities of our multi-site California operations.
The Accounting Manager supervises four staff accountants and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Responsibilities Overseeing the daily activities of the accounting department and ensuring that all major projects, month-end, and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time.
Hiring, training, and motivating accounting staff members while supervising and delegating department tasks.
Partner with Shared Services to drive process improvement across AP, AR and Payroll Perform month end closing activities – accruals, subledger reconciliations, statistical entries, etc.
Prepare for and respond to internal and external audit requests Support the new employee onboarding process Ensure adequate SOX and internal controls are in place and maintained to safeguard financial assets.
Manage the certified payroll activity for the Area Knowledge/Skills Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and staff at various organizational levels Self-starter and hands-on Strong time management and organizational skills Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet scheduled deadlines Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook and other software applications Excellent oral/written communication, presentation, and listening skills Should be comfortable working independently and in a team environment Safety conscience Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience Experience with standard cost accounting, inventory management, GAAP, Sales and Use Taxes, and Capex evaluation Proven analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to influence others and deliver individual results Experience supporting manufacturing business environment Demonstrated experience with effectively leading teams, coaching and developing individuals Travel Required: Up to 10-15% Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration Advanced Degrees, CPA, CMA certifications as a plus 7 years of managerial experience What CRH Americas Offers You Highly competitive base pay Comprehensive medical, dental and disability benefits programs Group retirement savings program Health and wellness programs A culture that values opportunity for growth, development, and internal promotion About CRH Americas CRH Americas has a long and proud heritage as one of North America’s largest corporations.
