What General Accounting contributes to Cardinal Health General Accounting is responsible for maintaining the financial books and records and preparing financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
This role oversees the accounting for various service-based businesses in the Pharmaceutical segment including Innovative Delivery Solutions (IDS), Get Outcomes, and the technology innovation center, Fuse.
Main responsibilities include: Oversee a team of 4 Dublin-based employees and international contractors that perform month-end close, account reconciliations, and internal controls for multiple service businesses Ensure compliance with US GAAP and Company policies Provide technical and operations guidance on the accounting treatment of new contracts, business offerings, and operational initiatives.
This includes participation in the development and build out of the CHII Service Center, new service offering Blue Robin, IT transformations, and other key business initiatives.
Communicate accounting issues effectively and efficiently to all levels within the organization Review and monitor quality of outsourced staff work product, including partnering to implement necessary corrective actions or process improvements Qualifications Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent work experience 8 years experience in related field prior supervisory experience CPA preferred What is expected of you and others at this level Manages department operations and supervises professional employees, frontline supervisors and/or business support staff Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals Ensures employees operate within guidelines Decisions have a short term impact on work processes, outcomes, and customers Interacts with subordinates, peer customers and suppliers at various management levels may interact with senior management Interactions normally involves resolution of issues related to operations and/or projects Gains consensus from various parties involved Cardinal Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
