The Accounting Manager’s main purpose is to manage the Accounts Payable and Employee Travel Departments and provide support to management for various Finance activities.

Required Skills

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees the daily operations of AP.
  • Oversees and recommends process changes for AP operations to streamline and increase efficiency.
  • Ensure payments to vendors are made timely.
  • Reconcile vendor statements.
  • Follow up with managers to ensure charges are approved, coded, and processed.
  • Provide data and analysis for Finance required reporting, continuous review of vendor records, in compliance with applicable record retention protocols.
  • Assist/oversee with processing purchase orders, vendor invoices, check requests, travel requests and charge authorizations for payment, ensuring that items invoiced have been received and prices on invoices are within variance constraints of the prices on PO; review account coding and proper authorization
  • Assist/oversee with submitting Travel Authorizations, recaps and other travel related requests for input within one working day of receipt and review data input and backup documentation and calculate the travel advance and reimbursable amounts
  • Account for cash advances for board meetings and process check requests for board travel expenses and honorariums; prepare cash to be distributed to Board Members and collect appropriate receipts and documentation
  • Perform data entry of invoices, charge authorizations, check requests, etc
  • Maintain a high level of internal customer satisfaction by explaining NSHC AP and Travel policies and procedures to managers and others who inquire.
  • Assist with the corporation’s preparation of yearly 1099s and 1096.
  • Assist with 105l lease data for corporation’s lease agreements with IHS annually.
  • Provide statistics to Management on aging AP schedule
  • Provide statistic to Management on outstanding Travel Recaps.
  • Provide support to the Payroll Department
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Finance, or related field
  • 5 year(s) performing administrative work in accounting or auditing, three years in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • 3 years in a supervisor or manager role
