Job Summary
We are looking for dynamic, empathetic, and action-oriented individuals to join our exciting Finance team.
As part of the growing Hazel Finance team, you will be responsible for all facets of the Accounting Function.

These include but not limited to Day-To-Day operations, Month End Close, and Tax Compliance.

This important role requires an understanding of multi-state accounting, a keen interest in learning about the business, as well as a strong analytical mindset and curiosity.

This role will report to the Controller.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and assist in the day-to-day accounting functions (A/P, A/R, Payroll, Banking)
Ensure books are closed monthly within GAAP Standards with agreed upon closing time
frames.
Develop and maintain all documentation of all team processes.
Prepare for and be the integral partner for external audits.
Oversee and partner with external tax accountants on annual tax filings.
Partner with Finance on month end reporting package and other analysis to support timely and accurate business decisions.
Manage all team employment activity such as hiring, promoting, job performance, training, evaluations, and disciplinary actions with appropriate approvals as required.

Provide work direction for department teammates.

Determine staffing plans that promote the most effective use of all team members; ensure coverage during absences.

Create and manage team goals and objectives to enable the organization meets their strategic and operating goals and imperatives.
Qualifications and skills:
Passion for our mission
Accounting experience including month end close, revenue accounting, inventory accounting, tax, analysis, and SOX 404 for a multi-state company.

Experience with Healthcare preferred.
Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Demonstrated competency in use of financial, planning and reporting software platforms (SAP, Cognos and Hyperion a plus) to aid in selection and implementation of future reporting platforms
Strong business and analytical skills: ability to multi-task, stay organized and prioritize, meet deadlines, and take on additional responsibilities as necessary in a continually evolving environment
Self-motivated team player with strong ability to interact with others, work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
Team oriented and willingness to step in and help in areas outside your main focus
Ability to work in a startup world with hyper growth and evolving processes and systems
Dynamic leader with ability to manage, develop and grow a diverse and remote team.
Very strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to propose positive business solutions to complex problems.
Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with focused attention to detail.
Capability to build strong relationships and communication skills (written and verbal)
Capability to manage sensitive information.
Minimum requirements:
5+ years in managing Accounting Team
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance or Accounting or related field of study.
CPA preferred
