Accounting Manager

Accounting Manager, IT Industry – Santa Ana, CA 

 We are seeking an Accounting Manager to manage the day to day accounting and procurement operations of  I.T. Responsive, including production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting and purchasing records, and to create/maintain a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results. This position will also lead the efforts for the annual financial audit.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develops and implements improved programs, processes, and management methods to ensure attainment of business plan for increased ROI, growth, and profit through management, report generation, trending, budgeting, etc.
• Develops, implements, and monitors procedures regarding accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense control and electronic transactions (ACH, CC).
• Ensures company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles
• Ensures daily/weekly/monthly reconciliation of accounting activities (A/R, A/P, Billing, time entry, etc.)
• Ensures that receivables are collected promptly
• Ensures that all reasonable discounts are obtained/taken on accounts payable
• Maintains a system of controls over accounting transactions (suggest and implement improvements)
• Issues timely and accurate financial statements and report them at month close within 10 calendar days after month end
• Works with the team to maintain an orderly accounting filing system and timely filing of paperwork
• Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
• Provides financial analyses as needed
• Ensures that payables are completed in a timely manner
• Completes monthly bank reconciliations
• Inventory control management including physical year-end inventory count
• Manages fixed assets and inventory allocations

Preferred Skills & Experience

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an accounting management position
• Full cycle GL close experience or public accounting (audit) experience at the senior level or higher
• Possesses strong knowledge and experience of technical accounting
• Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge/usage
• QuickBooks experience a plus
• College degree in finance or accounting related major required

Additional Information: 

• Local Orange County, CA candidates preferred; hybrid remote schedule available to local candidates only with the ability to commute regularly to Santa Ana, CA
• 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday, Occasional weekend or afterhours work may be required during month end close and audit seasons
• Permanent, Full Time
• Starting salary $80,000 + DOE
