Scope of Position:
The Accounting Manager is responsible to assure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements through the maintenance of well-organized and structured accounts and records.

Preparation and distribution of timely and accurate financial and operational reports that evaluate performance against operating objectives and enable senior management to make tactical and strategic business decisions.

Work with operational management to identify and document recommendations for business process and internal control improvements to provide a more effective, efficient and profitable operation.

Assist in the development of accounting policies and procedures.

Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff.

Responsibilities include the ability to analyze financial data by collecting, monitoring and creating financial models for decision support.

Improve financial status of the organization by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.

You will assist with annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly forecasting and budget models.

You will report through Finance organization, but you will be working with all departments within Swift Prepared Foods, which encompasses exposure to full workings of our P&L and business structure.
Responsibilities:
Manage the monthly and quarterly accounting close process including financial statement (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) preparation and review to ensure integrity of the financial statements.
Review and approve journal entries to ensure proper backup and accuracy of recording
Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.

Oversee daily operations of the general and transaction accounting functions.
Oversee / prepare necessary account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of all elements of the financial statements
Develops meaningful monthly management reporting instruments including departmental reporting and other analyses necessary to provide relevant business information to operating managers
Analyze cash activity for the company, prepare cash flow analysis for actual and forecasting objectives
Coordinate both internal and external audit requirements within the BU
Perform P&L explanation for key variances in Price, Mix, Volume and Cost drivers.
Analyzing current and past financial data and performance.
Preparing reports and projections based on analysis.
Identifying trends in financial performance and providing recommendations for improvement.
Providing financial models and forecasting.
Oversite & responsibility for accounting practices and internal controls
Perform month-end reconciliation by GL account, including balance sheet flux
Provide Accounts Payable Support and GRIR controls for all SPF locations
Support the coordination of Credit Holds and Credit Limits with Sales and Corporate Shared Services
Oversees the claims process for customers, managing deductions on the receivable aging

Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum Education requirement: BA or BS in Accounting or Finance.
CPA will be a plus
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, and projections.
Analytical skills with focus on the details.

MS Office proficiency, SAP and AS400 proficiency preferred.
Preciously experience in meat costing yields for Bacon and/or Cold Cuts Industry, preferred
Experience with power point presentation to Senior Management.

Excellent professional communication -both written and verbal.

Strong interpersonal skills.
