Accounting Associate

Freddie Mac is currently recruiting for an Accounting Associate within the Single-Family division.

The primary objective of this position is to support the processing of accounts receivables and corporate payment instructions.

The team will process payments for several Single Family business lines as well as support check processing for the entire corporation.

The team is also responsible for ensuring that customer payment instructions are processed timely using corporate guidelines to mitigate fraud and ensure accurate entries The work is challenging, complex, and detail oriented, thus an excellent opportunity for a professional who can leverage their experience and education to execute established processes.

Your Work Falls into Two Primary Categories: Accounts Receivable Processing Process cash payments against existing receivables for SF business lines Process miscellaneous payments for various Freddie Mac departments Research payments to ensure correct application Perform ad hoc ACH worksheets to assist business with various requirements Assist with collection efforts Payment Instruction Processing Work closely with various internal business partners and external customers to process payment instructions Resolve issues with customers to ensure compliance with corporate policies Executing controls in process to facilitate accurate and time processing Qualifications Qualifications Requirements Typically has a minimum of 1-2 years of related work experience.

Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience Analytical experience
– ability to research issues and provide analysis on trends, etc.

Process oriented
– ability to work with in defined processes to ensure control compliance and execution Strong communications
– candidate will be working with business partners at Freddie, lenders and customers to resolve issues Stellar collaboration skills Finance or mortgage experience a plus Keys to Success in this Role Ability to work with and collaborate across the team and where silos exist Strong consultation and communication skills Ability to identify and escalate issues quickly to allow for prompt resolution A problem-solving mentality
