DescriptionPurpose: The Accounting Analyst is key member of the Accounting team who will play an important role to support the growth of the Company through contributing to the implementation and execution of core accounting processes and procedures, with a focus on the Company’s fixed assets and revenue processes.Outcomes, Responsibilities, and Performance MeasuresPerform routine accounting functions, such as:• Preparation of routine and non-routine general journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.• Preparation of various account reconciliations and related analyses to support accounting processes.• Ensure appropriate documentation and internal controls are maintained.• Assist with financial statement audits, including reconciliations, supporting documentation, and communication with external auditors.• Timely and accurate financial close.• Limited reconciliation issues.Execution of fixed assets and lease accounting processes:• Ensure accurate recognition of fixed assets.• Process fixed asset additions and disposals in fixed asset accounting module.• Process monthly depreciation, review for accuracy to ensure consistency with accounting policies.• Monitor and reconcile data interfaces from source systems is complete and accurate.• Monitor ongoing projects for proper accounting treatment in accordance with the Company’s accounting policies.• Collaborate with maintenance crewmembers to support fixed asset accounting processes.• Prepare auditable account reconciliations to support financial reporting.• Gather and review data for property tax returns. Accurate fixed asset accounting records.• Limited out of period adjustments.Execution of revenue accounting processes:• Compile and analyze accounting data and information related to revenue activities.• Prepare journal entries related to billing and revenue recognition.• Reconcile and review fluctuations of revenue accounts, deferred revenue accounts, accounts receivable, and related allowance accounts through cross-referencing with reports and related data from the Company’s revenue management systems.• Collaborate with Revenue Management and Scheduling Crewmembers to gain knowledge of business transactions to ensure accurate revenue accounting and resolve billing and revenue recognition issues.• Ensure adherence to revenue recognition policies and procedures.• Prepare data for various transportation tax and passenger facility charge remittances.• Gather and review data for revenue related tax returns.• Accurate revenue accounting records.• Limited out of period adjustments.Decision-Making AbilityDecision-Maker (approver)• Situational applicable of accounting standards/practices.• Process recommendations and implementation.Decision Participant (Influences)• Financial systems and applications selection, processes, and uses.• Accounting policy and process decisions.Functional Competencies1. Strong understanding Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and experience with application of financial reporting concepts.2. Familiarity with financial systems and business applications with a focus on automation. Experience with NetSuite a plus.3. General ledger analysis background with ability to review, analyze and provide guidance to resolve reconciliation issues.4. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; comfortable with significant volumes of data.Behavioral Competencies1.
