The key areas of responsibility include: Monthly Financial ReportingManagement reportingBalance sheetIncome statementOther internal and external reporting Facilitating Budgets and ProjectionsMaintain and update budget and projection worksheets for all departmentsAssist in upload of budget and projection ledgers Completing Necessary AuditsAssist activities for the annual auditAssist in special audits as necessary General Financial Reporting and MonitoringMaintain financial records in accordance with sound accounting fundamentalsPrepare and maintain system queriesPrepare and enter monthly journal entries to the general ledgerCoordinate monthly general ledger close: validate completeness of journal entry posting, review preliminary financial statements, prepare and record adjusting entries as necessaryEvaluate financial variances, communicate findings and identify issuesAddress financial inquiries from departmentsPrepare account reconciliations with documented support: review for appropriate recordingCommunicate and coordinate with external departments to obtain information on financial transactions, research reconciling items and resolve any issues RequirementsBachelor’s degree and expertise in GAAP accountingAt least five or more years accounting financial analysis experienceIntermediate to advanced-level experience with Microsoft OfficeStrong analytical skills and attention to detailMust possess excellent organizational skills and be able to meet deadlinesMust possess strong written and verbal communication skillsBe an innovative thinker, self-starter and team playerExperience with PeopleSoft is a plus BenefitsAcademy of Art University offers full-time employees health insurance, 401k options, paid vacation based on years of service (15 days’ accrual at start), paid holidays, paid sick leave and a commuter benefit program.
